花見団子 - Hanami Dango

Render Details:
It is Hanami (Sakura-viewing) season in Japan, so inspired by that I made some Hanami Dango.
I modelled everything in the scene, the wooden coaster was a little bit tricky to do, the glass is based on Yunomi, a Japanese glass tea cup from Hario. The Cherry blossom flowers are from a previous project.

About Hanami Dango:
Dango (団子) is a Japanese dumpling made from rice flour mixed with uruchi rice flour and glutinous rice flour. Generally, dango comes under the category of wagashi, traditional Japanese confections that are often served with green tea. It is eaten year-round, but the different varieties are traditionally eaten in given seasons.
Hanami dango has three colors (pink, green, white), and is traditionally made during sakura-viewing season, hence the name (hanami means "flower viewing"). The order of the three colored dumplings is said to represent the order in which cherry blossoms bloom. Pink represents cherry buds, white represents cherry blossoms in full bloom, and green represents leafy cherry blossoms after they have fallen. (Wikipedia)
