だんごトランプ - Dango Playing Cards tuck case design (Original Design)

About the design:
For the tuck case design I wanted to recreate the appearance of a colorful dango box, I used some reference images of real packages for inspiration.

On the sides there is a polka dot pattern, also some text in japanese:
- Top: 花より団子 (Hana yori dango)
Literally: Dumplings rather than flowers
Meaning: To prefer substance over form, as in to prefer to be given functional, useful items (such as dumplings) instead of merely decorative items (such as flowers).
- Right: お花見におすすめ! (Ohanami ni osusume!)
Recommended for cherry blossom viewing!
- Left: 花見だんご (Hanami Dango)
- Below: a japanese Hanko signature with my pen name "Zicot" written in katakana.

Finally for the tuck case's back design I decided to add the card design with white borders, as it can be useful for magic tricks.
The cute little faces are actually on a protective box sleeve, an idea by Bao Hoang (Baomagic on instagram) used for his boba deck series.

About the renders:
The tuck case is a rigged model asset I created based on Cartamundi Guide Lines.
The transparent protective case sleeve with the cute faces for the box's back is made with a modified version of the tuck case, also the material is a procedural plastic material with some surface imperfections texture for fingerprints and scratches.
For the tree shadow as a Gobo Light, I used a spot light with a tree silhouette texture.

About Dango:
Dango (団子) is a Japanese dumpling made from rice flour mixed with uruchi rice flour and glutinous rice flour. Generally, dango comes under the category of wagashi, and is often served with green tea. It is eaten year-round, but the different varieties are traditionally eaten in given seasons.
Hanami dango (花見だんご) is sanshoku dango (三色団子) to eat during hanami. It has three colors (pink, green, white), and is traditionally made during sakura-viewing season, hence the name (hanami means "flower viewing"; hana meaning "flower", and mi meaning "to see").
