年越しそば - Year-crossing noodles

Toshikoshi soba (年越しそば) is a traditional Japanese dish.
Toshikoshi soba is a savory New Year’s noodle bowl dish, typically eaten on New Year’s Eve.
Soba noodles are made from buckwheat, which is what gives them their warm brownish color. Toshikoshi soba, also called "year-crossing noodle," is symbolic. The long length of the buckwheat noodles represents longevity, while the ease of cutting the noodles signifies cutting off any negativity or hardship from the prior year.

Soba noodles are either served in hot broth or cold with a dipping sauce called Tsuyu, for this render I chose the cold version inspired by an episode of one of my favourite series "Midnight Diner".
I modelled everything in the scene. Azmaya is a Japanese traditional tableware brand, I used their images as reference for the soba cup (Soba choko) and the little plate (mamezara) on the side, I really like the patterns.
2023 is the Year of the Rabbit, so I wanted something related to that, I chose the Hashioki (chopsticks rest) and used an image as reference.
Geometry nodes used for the green onions, nori (seaweed strips) and soba noodles. Thank you very much Erindale for the Wire Flood node in your Geometry Node Toolkit, it was essential for this project.
